Review of Bridge of Snow

Thursday, 23 April 2015
Hello Fellow Book Lovers,

This is the first of my reviews of the books in The Winner's Trilogy including the short story, Bridge of Snow that serves as its prequel.

Book: Bridge of Snow
Author: Marie Rutkoski
Publisher: Macmillan
Genre: Young Adult, Short Story, Fantasy, Historical
Cover:

Rating: 5/5 Stars

Summary: Ignore the stirrings of war. Let the carriage to a royal ball wait. There is a story to be told: of a starless night, a mother and her sick son, and a mortal who falls in love with the snow god, and will do anything to have her...

Review: Here are my initial thoughts:

- Marie Rutkoski is a phenomenal writer. (But we already knew that.)

- This story gives you all the feels. (ARIN!!!)

- I wish it were longer. Like 300 pages longer.

Whether or not you plan to read The Winner's Trilogy, Bridge of Snow is a beautiful tale that nearly brought me to tears. With exquisite writing and a young ARIN (for those of you who know who ARIN is, you understand his amazingness and for those of you who do not know who ARIN is, go read The Winner's Curse of Bridge of Snow), Bridge of Snow was the main reason why I picked up The Winner's Curse.

If you haven't read Bridge of Snow, you are missing out.
