Simon Vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda

Tuesday, 7 April 2015
Hello Fellow Book Lovers,

This is take #2 because I wrote this post and then it got deleted. Oh well. What can I do?

So this book called Simon Vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda came out today. It's by Becky Albertalli and involves...Oreos.

Like epic awesomeness that will make your mouth water.

So do I have your attention now? Great!

From what I've heard, there's a lot of this:

So you end up wanting to do this:

And it might make you end up feeling like this:

Maybe I should just be quiet and show you the cover:

Because that's a nice cover that will look great on your shelves.

(Am I great at marketing or what?)

This is the synopsis for those of you that need a better reason to buy it than a pretty cover:

Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: if he doesn’t play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone’s business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he’s been emailing, will be compromised.

With some messy dynamics emerging in his once tight-knit group of friends, and his email correspondence with Blue growing more flirtatious every day, Simon’s junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated. Now, change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out—without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable guy he’s never met.

I really don't know what to tell you if you don't want to read this book except that you need to go read some Throne of Glass and come back when you're all fantasied out (if that's even possible).

You can buy this sumptuous book over here (so long as you don't eat it because it's not an Oreo):

Amazon.ca | Amazon.com | Audible | Barnes & Noble | Chapters/Indigo

Happy Reading!

Just remember, even though it's really hard to believe, THIS BOOK IS NOT AN OREO.

I know, I made that face too when I first found out.
